Walks in nature
Discover the beautiful nature around Warredal on foot. Forests, heathland, fields, ... in the varied landscape you will regularly stop to enjoy the beautiful views. There are some 50 hiking loops nearby, good for some 200km of hiking pleasure.
Warredal is located next to the Hoge Kempen National Park with the Bergerven nature reserve as its gateway. The hiking trails start along the climbing forest, at car park 2. Go exploring and don't forget to walk past the lookout hill, from where you have a surprising view over the lakes.
Bergerven is also the habitat for birds. So while walking, you can stop at the bird-watching hut and look for the different species. Be sure to borrow binoculars from reception and spot the waders, diving ducks and osprey.
And, to make it even more fun... Bergerven nature reserve is grazed by Galloway cattle and Konik horses that roam freely in this open landscape!
Taking a walk is the ideal activity to really unwind in one of Belgium's most unspoilt nature spots. Tip: If you are staying in our Cosy Cabins, you can reserve a picnic basket at reception, so you can have your lunch to hand en route.
